Parish Hall Usage Policy and Guidelines

Containers at the Church Hall There are a number of bowls and pans left in the hall kitchen, (and some over 5 months). Most of them do not have any names on them.  Would you please check and see if you have one there and pick it up. If they are not picked up in the next couple of weeks we will see that they find a new home.  Thank you.


Through the foresight of its past leaders, St. Mary's has a fine parish hall among its facilities, located at 211 Meridian Street in Tipton. It is especially attractive to community groups because of its accessibility and the kitchen facilities. In response to interest in its use by non-parish groups, the following policy has been established.

The primary purpose of St. Mary's Hall is for the pastoral needs of the parish community, i.e. faith formation of its members, the social activities of the guild and the ministry needs of the parish not provided for by the Guild. Secondly, the hall is available for the needs of the parish community for family gatherings and such activities. These events take priority in scheduling.

As a parish community, we are part of the large community from which parishioners come. As a public service, it is our policy to make the hall available for use to community groups, such as service organizations, churches and other community related groups. A nominal fee will be charged to such groups for maintenance of the facility. All groups using the building will be expected to follow authorized parish usage guidelines. Failure to follow such guidelines will result in termination of future usage of the building.

Local businesses may apply for permission to use the building by applying at the parish office. It is the policy of the Diocese of Davenport that all users of the building for non-parish functions provide Proof of Insurance at the time of application for use of the building.

Please call the church office (886-2506) prior to filling out the form to ensure that the hall is available on your desired date. Once the application form is completed, return it to Maureen in the church office or email it to her at stmarystipton@iowatelecom.net.

Tier I Parish sponsored function No charge
  Groups providing a public service No charge
  School sponsored events No charge
  Scouting groups No charge
     
Tier II* Parishioner sponsored activity $25.00
     
Tier III* Non-Profits / Service groups $35.00
     
Tier IV* Business Associated groups $100.00
     

*In case of doubt as to category of a particular group, the discretion of Pastor and/or Parish Pastoral Council will be followed.

Parishioners may borrow designated tables and chairs from the hall without a rental fee. A rental fee will be charged to non-parish groups for use of tables and chairs. There is a sign-out sheet at the hall entrance doors. Tables and chairs must be signed in and out.
