Here is more wisdom from Mother Teresa - "It is very easy to love people far away, very easy to think of the hungry people in India. You must see first that there is love at home and at your next-door neighbor's and in the street you live in, in the town you live in and only then outside."

Mother Teresa thinks we can find ways to

show the love of Jesus by serving others right

in our own community. Do you remember

the adage from the '80s - "practice random

acts of kindness"? I think if we look around

and simply practice kindness to others, we

will become more aware of ways to share

love every day.

A concrete activity is the Habitat for Humanity

build in Tipton. Sign up to feed the

workers! Or be a worker. Or help with the

Shared Blessings meals.

I attended a Diocesan Gathering last week

that talked about Families and the Bible and

discussed ways we might all turn to Scripture

more in our own lives and homes. Do you

have Bibles in your homes? If you do, is it

where you and your family members can

easily access it? A way to get started is to

start reading a chapter a day - start with Matthew

and just read. Need a Bible but don't

know where or what to get? Give me an

email at stmarymaryb@gmail.com or call at

563-886-2545 and I'll be glad to help you.

Guided Bible Studies will begin again in

the fall along with all our Faith Formation

opportunities.
